Allow user-defined comments
This configuration item specifies whether or not custom
comments can be made.
Custom comments enable free-text comments to be
added on the Comments screen.

• Enabled (default)

Custom comments is enabled.
• Disabled
[false]
Custom comments is disabled.
Dependencies
The Allow user-defined comments configuration item
is only relevant when comments are enabled for patient
and QC tests as follows:
• If the Allow comments on patient results
configuration item has one of the following values:
• Optional
• Required when below or above selected
range
• Always required
• If the Allow comments on QC results configuration
item has one of the following values:
• Optional
• Required when QC fails
• Always required
Configuration
You configure the Allow user-defined comments
configuration item using the following:
• Data management system (e.g., cobas
®
infinity POC)
• Barcode (generated via cobas
®
infinity edge)
