7.3 Periodic Inspection

Monthly 2.0 mm precision flat head
screwdriver
Dry tissue or towel
None (unless damage is detected)
Note
Always turn off robot and Gripper power supply before doing maintenance operations on the
Gripper.
Procedure
Remove the Gripper from the robot following schematics in section .3.3 Mechanical connections
Clean the Gripper following instructions in .7.1 Gripper cleaning
Inspect the Gripper :
Finger movement must be symmetric and fluid:
Test the return movement by pushing open the fingers, the fingers must come back to their
initial position on their own.
Test the general movement of the fingers by actuation via the screwdriver insertion hole in the
chassis.
Finger pad wear must not affect gripping, if wear is visible and affects movement, change finger
pad(s). See section .7.4 Finger Pad Replacement
Check for any collision damage, if damage is visible, contact Robotiq Support.
Check for any sign of wear on the Gripper chassis, if wear is present and may affect Gripper
performance, contact Robotiq Support.
Put the Gripper back in place, make sure to maintain the initial orientation of your Gripper.
