SECTION 4: First-Aid Measures
First-Aid Measures General: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show
the label where possible).
Inhalation: IF INHALED: Remove to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Call a
POISON CENTER or doctor/physician if you feel unwell
Skin Contact: IF ON SKIN: Immediately rinse with plenty of soap and water (for at least 15 minutes). If skin irritation
occurs, get medical advice/attention.
Eye Contact: IF IN EYES: Rinse immediately and thoroughly, pulling the eyelids well away from the eye (15 minutes
minimum). Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do so. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation
occurs, get medical advice/attention.
Ingestion: IF SWALLOWED: Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician. Do NOT induce vomiting.
Obtain emergency medical attention.

Symptoms/Injuries: May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways.
Symptoms/Injuries after Inhalation: Inhalation in high concentrations may cause irritation of the mucous membranes. Solvent vapors are
hazardous and may cause nausea, sickness and headaches. Aspiration of this material into the lungs
may cause chemical pneumonia or death.
Symptoms/Injuries After Skin Contact: Contact during a long period may cause light irritation.
Symptoms/Injuries After Eye Contact: Direct contact with the eyes is likely to be irritating.
Symptoms/Injuries After Ingestion: Acute ingestion causes CNS depression, oropharyngeal and gastric pain and vomiting.

clean-up crews properly equipped with respiratory equipment and full chemical protective gear (see

Non-Emergency Personnel: Protective Equipment: Wear Protective equipment as described in Section 8
Emergency Procedures: Evacuate unnecessary personnel.
Emergency Responders: Protective Equipment: Use protective gloves, goggles face protection and suitable protective
clothing. Approved supplied-air respirator, in case of emergency.
Environmental Precautions: Prevent entry to sewers and public waters. Notify authorities if liquid enters sewers or public waters.

Methods and Material for Containment: Contain any spills with dikes or absorbents to prevent migration and entry into
containment and cleaning up: sewers or streams. Foam may be used to suppress vapors.
Clean-Up: Soak up spills with inert solids, such as clay or diatomaceous earth as soon as possible.
