Before Installation:
Temperature:
Roberts 3000 is freeze-thaw stable at 10°F (-12.2°C)
or above and may be permanently damaged if
stored below 10°F (-12.2°C).
The Roberts 3000 adhesive, carpet or vinyl that is
being installed and subfloor must be at least 65°F
(18.3°C) or higher if recommended by the
flooring manufacturer.
Floor Condition:
The subfloor must be clean, dry and free of hydro-
static pressure, alkali, oil, moisture, dust, organic
materials, paint, grease and wax.
All substrate cracks, joints and uneven areas
should be filled with Roberts 1440 floor patch.
Do not apply adhesive between two non-
porous/impervious materials (e.g. Should not
be used to adhere sheet vinyl to an existing
resilient floor).
•Test any new type of carpet or flooring
material not listed above first to ensure
adhesive performance.
Coverage:
Floorcovering Type Notch Size Approx. Coverage
Texture-backed Carpets 1/8 x 1/8 x 1/16 90-108 sq ft/gal
Flat Top V (B7)
Felt-backed Sheet Vinyl 1/16 x 1/16 x 3/32 162-180 sq ft/gal

The above recommended trowel notches are merely
suggestions and/or a starting point. Surface condi-
tions and roughness of material backing will ulti-
mately determine the coverage needed. It is the
installer's responsibility to ensure 100% transfer of
adhesive to the material backing, including recessed
areas. Full coverage of the floor surface is
also necessary.
During Installation:
Apply Adhesive:
Layout material according to manufacturer's speci-
fications.
Apply Roberts 3000 evenly to the substrate
according to industry standards or as recommend-
ed by the flooring manufacturer using a Roberts
(B7) or (E1) trowel or equivalent that
will provide 100% transfer.
Install Flooring:
Set the carpet or sheet vinyl into the adhesive
while it is still wet and within 45 minutes after
troweling. Adjust the material if necessary within
this time. Lift a corner periodically to see if the
adhesive is transferring 100% to the back of the
flooring. If the adhesive is not transferring, apply
additional adhesive.
When high humidity exists allow additional set
(Roberts Switchblade™ Trowel 10-354 and 10-368.)
