ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:
1. SHUT OFF THE MAIN ELECTRICAL SUPPLY AT FUSE BOX/ CIRCUIT BREAKER.
2. Remove all parts from carton. Do not throw away any parts.
3. Remove the frame (P) and shade (N) from housing (J) by unthreading screws (K) and removing clips (L). Note: Hold frame (P) and
shade (N) in place until clips (L) are removed to avoid damage to frame or shade.
4. Remove mounting plate (B) from canopy (D) by removing canopy screws (E). Set canopy screws (E) aside.
5. Carefully pull the wiring from the ceiling outlet box. Thread the wires through the center hole in mounting plate (B).
6. Ax mounting plate (B) to ceiling outlet box with mounting screws (C), provided.
7. Measure desired drop for xture to hang. Using two wrenches or chain break tool (not provided) remove chain links (H) to
achieve desired drop. To open chain links, place a cloth around the link (to avoid damage to nish) and slide one of the wrenches
onto the link. Slide the second wrench onto the link with the handles facing the opposite directions (see diagram). The backstop
of the wrench MUST rest against the link while applying force to prevent damage to the link. Holding one wrench in a xed
position, rotate the second wrench to open the link. Do not rotate the link more than 45 degrees. Rotate open link in chain (H) to a
closed position to secure chain.
8. Secure quick link (G) to hang straight (F).
9. Guide wire exiting the xture through chain (H), quick link (G), through the center of the hang straight (F), and up through the
hole in the canopy (D).
10. Cut the cord to the desired length to make electrical connections. Note: At least 8 inches of wire is needed to make proper
electrical connections.
11. Lift canopy (D) to mounting plate (B) and make proper electrical connections described in steps 12-14. A LICENSED
ELECTRICIAN IS RECOMMENDED.
12. Attach ground wire from the xture (green or copper in color) to the ground wire in outlet box. Fasten wires together with wire nut
(A) and tightly wrap connection with electical tape.
13. Attach hot wire from xture (black in color, or smooth side of wire) to hot wire from ceiling outlet box. Fasten wires together with
wire nut (A) and tightly wrap connection with electrical tape.
14. Attach neutral wire from xture (white in color or ribbed side of wire) to neutral wire from ceiling outlet box. Fasten wires
together with wire nut (A) and tightly wrap connection with electrical tape.
15. Gently push wire conections back into ceiling outlet box. Slide canopy (D) over mounting plate (B). Thread screws (E) into holes
in canopy (D) to secure xture to ceiling.
16. Install one 100W MAX. Type A, medium base bulb into socket (M).
17. Set shade (N) into ring (O). Note: the lip of shade (N) should rest securely on the lip inside of ring (O).
18. Securely hook clip (L) onto the bottom of ring (O) and hold in place. Lift frame (P) with shade (N) inside up to housing (J) and
hold in place. Align holes in clip (L) with holes in housing (J). Rethread screw (K) into housing (J). Repeat for remaining clips (L).
Note: This step may require more than one person to hold frame (P) and shade (N) in place while clips (L) are being secured.
19. Reconnect main electrical suppy from the fuse box/ circuit breaker and test the xture.

* WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND INSTALLATION BY A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN.
* Turn o power at switch before replacing bulbs, making sure xture has had sucient time to cool down.
* If any special control devices are used with this xture, follow the instructions carefully to assure full compliance with N.E.C.
requirements. If there are any questions, contact a qualied electrical contractor.
* This xture is U.L. rated for dry locations.
