ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR
WILLIAMSBURG TAYLOE WALL SCONCE
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
* These instructions are provided for your safety.
* It is very important that they are read completely before beginning the installation of your fi xture.
* WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND INSTALLATION BY A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN.
* Turn off power at switch before replacing bulbs, making sure fi xture has had suffi cient time to cool down.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:
1. SHUT OFF THE MAIN ELECTRICAL SUPPLY FROM THE MAIN FUSE BOX/ CIRCUIT BREAKER.
2. Remove all parts from carton and discard packing materials. Place the parts on a level surface.
3. Remove mounting plate (A) from backplate (B) by unthreading screws (C). Set screws (C) aside.
4. To install glass panels, unthread screws (H) to loosen brackets (I) as shown in Illustration A. NOTE: Do not unthread screws (H) completely
from metal frame (K) as it is unnecessary.
5. Carefully insert glass panels (J) into the space between brackets (I) and metal frame (K). Carefully tighten screws (H) back into metal frame (K) to
secure glass panels in place. NOTE: Do not over tighten screws (H). Doing so can cause the glass panels to break.
6. Align mounting plate (A) with wall outlet box. Hold mounting plate (A) in a level position against the wall. Using a pencil, mark the location of
the holes (L) at the top and bottom of the mounting plate onto the wall.
7. Drill small holes at marked locations on the wall. Holes should be sized so they accommodate wall anchors (F), provided. Insert wall anchors into
drilled holes.
8. Carefully pull wires from the wall outlet box and thread them through the center hole in mounting plate (A).
9. Affi x mounting plate (A) to the wall outlet box with screws (D). For additional support, thread mounting screws (G) through holes (L) and into
wall anchors (F).
10. Lift backplate (B) to mounting plate (A) and make the proper electrical connections noted in steps 11 through 13.
A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN IS RECOMMENDED.
11. Attach ground wire from fi xture (green or copper in color) to ground wire from outlet box. Fasten wires together with wire nut (E) and tightly
wrap connection with electrical tape.
12. Attach hot wire from fi xture (black in color or smooth side of wire) to hot wire from outlet box. Fasten wires together with wire nut (E) and
tightly wrap connection with electrical tape.
13. Attach neutral wire from fi xture (white in color or ribbed side of wire) to neutral wire from outlet box. Fasten wires together with wire nut (E) and
tightly wrap connection with electrical tape. Gently push wire connections back into the wall outlet box.
14. Place backplate (B) over mounting plate (A). Use screws (C) to secure the fi xture to the mounting plate.
15. Install two 40W Max., Type B, Candelabra base bulbs into the sockets.
16. Reconnect main electrical supply at the fuse box/ circuit breaker and test the fi xture.
** To clean, use soft cloth only. Do not use any chemical or abrasive cleaners. **
