14. CHARGING A BATTERY WITH BID CHIP / KEY

1.Connect the battery (Lithium battery: also connect the voltage sensor lead),

check for correct polarity (see page 31).

2.Connect the BID chip / key.

3.Press the “MODE” button once. The charge process starts about two seconds later.

15. ERROR MESSAGES

The Duo-Power 8S EQ is equipped with a range of safety features to ensure that charge

and discharge processes are completed reliably. As soon as an error occurs, an appro-

priate message appears on the screen, and the piezo buzzer alerts you to the problem

with a shrill warning sound. The following error messages are displayed on the screen;

you can erase the message by pressing any button once the problem has been resolved.

Input voltage below 10 V

Incorrect cell count set

The Duo-Power 8S EQ is unable to charge / dis-

charge the battery using the data stored on the BID

chip / key, e.g. Lithium cell count > 8 cells.

Incorrect data on the BID chip / key. The BID unit

must be re-initialised.
