SETTING
THE
VOX
SENSITIVITY
AND
DELAY
FEATURE
VOX
is sound activated,
not
just
voice activated.
To
stop unwanted transmissions,
we
use sensitivity settings
to
assist
with
the
activation processes. This means
the
switch will
only
kick in
when
it
detects sound over a certain decibel level.
Depending
on
the
noise level
in
your
vehicle,
how
loud
you speak, and
the
headset
you choose
to
use, you may need
to
change
the
VOX
settings
on
your
RKCBBT.
Press
and hold
the
VOX
button
to
enter
the
sensitivity setting. This is
the
setting
that
determines
how
easy
the
VOX
will
activate depending
on
the
noise level
at
the
headset microphone. L 1
is
the
most
sensitive,
L9
is
the
least sensitive.
Press
the
VOX
button
again
to
enter
the
"Anti-VOX" setting. The
VOX
in a
twoway
radio can also be triggered
by
the
loudspeaker carrying
the
other
side
of
the
conversation. This problem can
be
minimized
with
the"anti
vox"feature
to
decrease
VOX
sensitivity
when
the
receiver is active. This prevents
your
RKCBBT
from activating
the
VOX
function
when receiving a transmission.
Can
be
turned
off,
or
01
is
the
most sensitive, 20
is
the
least sensitive.
Press
the
VOX
button
again
to
enter
the
VOX
"Delay" setting. Delay
is
the
amount
of
time
the
microphone stays
on
after you stop talking. This ensures
that
the
circuit
does
not
turn
off
during
the
typical
short
pauses
during
conversation.
t1
is
the
shortest delay,
t9
is
the
longest delay.
Press
the
VOX
button
again
to
exit
the
VOX
settings.
