(It is not recommended to use the talk back function when using the VOX option as the talk back can trip the VOX mic and interrupt reception.) 8.
FIRST TIME PAIRING CONNECTION TO THE RKCBBT AND A PHONE USING THE SUPPLIED RKING940 HEADSET OR ACUSTOMER OWNED HEADSET WITH ABLUETOOTH® VERSION OF 5.0 OR HIGHER. NOTE: • The supplied RKING940 and wireless PTT are already paired to the supplied RKCBBT radio. 1. Turn off the RKCBBT. 2. Turn off the RKING940. 3. Turn off BLUETOOTH® function on the phone. 4. Press and hold the multi-function button on the RKING940 headset until the headset says "pairing mode': the LED on headset will blink red/blue. 5.
11. Press the button on the Wireless-PTT. The flashing RED BLUETOOTH®LED on the RKCBBT stops and changes to blue and stays lit. 12. Press the PTT button speak into the RKING940 mic to confirm connection. You will see the 5/RF meter on the RKCBBT screen rise indicating a broadcast and may also hear yourself if you are using the "talkback" function. (recommended) 13. The PTT is now connected, you can now use the VOX function or the remote PTT to transmit. 14.
6. Press the BLUETOOTH®button on the RKCBBT until the LED blinks red/blue alternately indicating it is in "pairing mode" 7. It may take 10 to 60 seconds for the RKCBBT and the headset to pair. Once paired the RKCBBT BLUETOOTH®LED will flash red and the headset will inform you that it has connected either by beeping or a voice prompt. 8. Turn on the VOX function by pressing the VOX button on the RKCBBT (the LED will light red) and speak into the headset mic to confirm connection.
DAILY CONNECTION NOTES FOR OTHER HEADSETS WITH A BLUETOOTH® VERSION LESS THAN 5.0 Depending on the headset and phone combination you are using, when you wish to reconnect to the radio after being away from it the following procedures should be followed. • Turn on the RKCBBT, if the headset automatically connects, proceed as normal. It may take 20 seconds for the radio and headset to connect.
SETTING THE VOX SENSITIVITY AND DELAY FEATURE VOX is sound activated, not just voice activated. To stop unwanted transmissions, we use sensitivity settings to assist with the activation processes. This means the switch will only kick in when it detects sound over a certain decibel level. Depending on the noise level in your vehicle, how loud you speak, and the headset you choose to use, you may need to change the VOX settings on your RKCBBT. • Press and hold the VOX button to enter the sensitivity setting.
