Smokedetector
Everymotorhomeisequippedwithafireextinguisherneartheentry
door.Italsohasasmokealarmmountedtotheceiling,usuallyinthe
kitchen area. The alarm sounds off a very shrill beep if it detects
smoke–indicatinga potentialfire.Sometimes,cookingcertainfoods
will also make the alarm to sound off – please make sure you only
cookwithanopenwindowandtherangehoodfanrunning.
Ifthealarmsounds,proceedwiththefollowingstepsimmediately:
1. Turnoffanypropaneappliancelikethecooktopandfurnace
2. Ifthereareany
visible flames,usethefireextinguisherandextinguishanyopenflames
3. If the fire cannot be extinguished, exit the vehicle immediately. Turn off the battery
disconnectswitchandclosethemainvalveonthepropanetank
4. Gethelp–call911!
5. Once everybodyissaf eandthefire
hasbeenextinguished,call our emergencynumberon
page3forfurtherassistance
