It is importantafter using the toilet the first time on an empty holding tank (either after you
pickedupthemotorhomeorafterdumpingthewastewater)tomakesuretoflushdownsome
toilet chemical. Special waste water chemicals can be purchased at many campgrounds,
campingsupplystoresoratWa
l‐Mart.
Wastewater
Themotorhomehastwoseparatewastewaterorholdingtanks:
‐“Greywater”–kitchenandbathroomsinksaswellasshower
‐ “Black water” – toilet and sometimes bathroom sink. Black wat er needs some treatment to
preventfoulodorsandtodissolvesolids.
The waste water tank drainvalves are usually on th
e driver side of the vehicle. Some models
havetheblackwatervalveonthepassengerside.
Inmostcases,theblackwatervalveislargerthanthegreywatervalve.
Todraintheholdingtanks:
- Removethesewercapfromthedrainpipe
- Attachthesewerhosetothedrainpipe
- Inserttheredcouplerendofthesewerhoseintothedumpholeatthec
ampground
- SlowlyopentheBLACKwatervalvefirstandletitcompletelydrain
- Closetheblackwatervalve
- NowopentheGREYwatervalveandletitdraincompletely.Thishelpstowashoutthe
sewerhose
- Closethegreywatervalve
- Whenallwaterhasdraineddisc
onnectthesewerhosefromthemotorhomeandwash
itoutwithcleanwater
- Drainoutthesewerhosecompletelybeforestoringitinthemotorhome
- Re‐installthesewercaponthedrainpipe.Asewercapisrequiredbylaw!
Theblackwaterholdingtankshouldonlybedrainedwhenitisatleast2/3 full
to flush out all solids. Even with full hook up at the campground, drain the
blackwatertankonlywhenitisatleast2/3 full!
