Smoke/Fire
Everymotorhomeisequippedwithafireextinguisherneartheentry
door.Italsohasasmokealarmmountedtotheceiling,usuallyinthe
kitchen area. The alarm sounds off a very shrill beep if it detects
smoke–indicatingapotentialfire.Sometimes,cookingcertainfoods
will also make the alarm to sound off – please make sure you only
cookwithanopenwindowandtherangehoodfanrunning.
Ifthealarmsounds,proceedwiththefollowingstepsimmediately:
1. Turnoffanypropaneappliancelik ethecooktopandfurnace
2. Ifthereareanyvisibleflame
s,usethefireextinguisherandextinguishanyopenflames
3. If the fire cannot be extinguished, exit the vehicle immediately. Turn off the battery
disconnectswitchandclosethemainvalveonthepropanetank
4. Gethelp–call911!
5. Onceeverybodyissafeandthefireha
sbeenextinguished,callouremergencynumberon
