Playback.
Remain (File). Remaining play time of the current file.
Next. Shows and allows to select the next file to be played.
Play Mode. Choices are single (stop after the current file), UFX
(play all consecutive files that belong to one recording session),
and cont. (continuous, plays all files consecutively).
During playback it is possible to pre-select the next to be played
file by navigating to the Next line and select any of the available
files. Single mode is extended by the next file and will stop after
that, unless another file had been selected again.
Continuous plays all existing files consecutively. Next can still be used to re-play or interactively
change the playlist by selecting any file during playback.
UFX plays all files following the incremental UFX name scheme (UFX01_00.wav,
UFX01_01.wav, UFX01_02.wav etc). This feature can be used to build playlists by renaming
other wav files to the same name scheme, then playing them via play mode UFX from a thumb
drive.
Time & Date.
The UFX+ has a real-time clock that is set automatically when
connecting the UFX+ to a computer with TotalMix FX running.
The clock is used to timestamp the recorded DURec files with the
current time and date values (file attribute). Time & Date can also
be set manually using this easy to use dialog.
37.3 Limitations and Important Notes
The media must be formatted as FAT32, primary type. Logical partitions are not supported.
With volumes having more than one partition, a different partition than default partition 1 can be
selected in Rec/Play Settings, USB Media.
A recording is always stopped when the sample rate changes.
Changing the record configuration (armed channels) is not possible during an ongoing re-
cording. Channels are recorded without placeholders and without labelling, in straight ascend-
ing order. For a playback on the exact same channels, the playback channels have to be se-
lected accordingly in TM FX or the unit.
The recording is done at the current sample rate as 24 bit WAV file. A file can be up to 2 GB in
size and includes all (up to 60) channels in interleaved format. The filename is UFX01_00.wav.
After reaching the 2 GB limit a new file is automatically written, with an incremental file number
(UFX01_01.wav). The UFX will write up to 100 files consecutively (UFX_01_99.wav). After that,
a new recording has to be started (UFX02_00.wav).
At a sample rate of 48 kHz, up to 60 channels (inputs and outputs), at 96 kHz 38 channels, at
192 kHz 19 channels can be selected. The actual number of channels that can be used error-
free depends on the media, see chapter 37.5.
