Introduction Hardware Overview

The OnLine LED, when lit, indicates that the line card is online and is ready to receive, process,
and send packets if configured to do so.

The OffLine LED, when lit, indicates that the line card is offline (powered off) and is ready for
hot swap.The OFF LED also is lit briefly during a reboot or reset of the RS and goes out as soon
as the line card is properly initialized.
1000Base-SX Line Card
The 1000Base-SX line card contains two independent Gigabit (1000 Mbps) Ethernet ports. The ports connect to
multi-mode fiber (MMF) cables. Figure 2-15 shows the front panel of the 1000Base-SX line card.
