This section will provide the necessary information to quickly set up the basic Outdoor Reset
function.
OncetheboilerTiershavebeenstructured,theOutdoorResetfunctioncanbeadded.
1. The outdoor sensor must be wired
and turned on by pressing the TURN
ON OUTDOOR SENSOR bu tton. Note
that
the outdoor sensor location is
boiler 2 sensor 3 by default. See the
OnTracInstallationGuide (34151)for
wiring details. Once the sensor is
connected confirm that the
temperatureisregisteringhere.
2. The default outdoor temperature at
which the function will begin to reset
the system set point OUTDOOR
TEMPERATURE THRESHOLD is 30°F. Change this value as
required.
3. TheMAXIMUMSHIFTOFSETPOINTissetat10°F.Astheoutdoortemperaturedropsthiswill
bethemaximumincreaseintheSystemSetPointallowed.Changethisvalueasrequired.
4. The OUTDOOR TEMP BAND WIDTH is the tem perature
range below the OUTDOOR TEMP
THRESHOLDoverwhichOnTrac
®
willresetoftheSetPoint.
5. The OUTDOOR SHUTDOWN TEMP is the outdoor temperature at which the OnTrac
®
will
disableallboileroperation.
6. WhenthesettingsarechosenandenteredturnonthefunctionOUTDOORRESET.
Example: Using the settings above, when the outdoor temperature drops below 30°F, the System Set
Pointwillincrease1°Fforeverydecreaseinoutdoortemperatureof2°F.Thisadjustmentwilloccur
until
theoutdoortemperaturereaches10°F.
TheSETPOINTBEFORERESETandSETPOINTAFTERRESETdisplayboxeswillgivearealtimeindicationof
theadjustmentthatisoccurring.
