5b) Wall Mounting
PlacetheArrayinthedesiredlocationandmarkthelocationofthemountingholesonthe
wall.
Drillandpreparetheholesforthedesiredscrewtype. Inmetalwallstheholesmaybe
tappedtotheproperthreadoralternativelytheArraymaybemountedwithsheetmetal
screws.Forconcretewallsaplasticanchorandscrewaresuggested.
Note:Mountingscrewsforattachingtheplatetothewallar
enotprovidedinthekit.
AttachtheArraytothemountingplatebeforeattachingthemountingplatetothewall.
6) Ground to Earth Ground
WARNING:Thisequipmentmustbeexternallygroundedusingacustomer‐supplied
groundwirebeforepowerisapplied.Contacttheappropriateelectricalinspection
authorityoranelectrician ifyouareuncertainthatsuitablegroundingisavailable.
PartofthemechanicalinstallationistoinsurethattheArrayisgroundedtoearthgroundto
dissipatean
ystaticelectricchargethatmaydevelopduetowind.InStep3,yousecureda
terminallugtotheArraywiththeprovided#6screw(seeStep3ifthishasnotbeendone).
AfterStep3iscompletedandtheArrayismountedtothewallorpole,attach the16gauge
wirefromtheArraytotheelectricalearthgroundpointthatyoulocatedorhadinstalledin
step3.ThefollowingillustrationshowsanearthgroundconnectionwheretheArrayis
mountedonapoleatgr
oundlevelandthe16gaugewireisattachedtoastakedriveninto
theground.
