INTRODUCTION The Digital Annunciator Display (DAD104) provides annunciation of ALARMS, CALLS and FAULTS for programmed, supervised stations. Handling is accomplished by single keystrokes. Four 2 x 16 character alpha-numeric DISPLAYS clearly indicate the extension number, Caller ID (16 character), Event and Priority. An audible tone accompanied by the flashing display line alerts the operator to events in queue.

DAD104 Operations Manual March 2012 EXPLANATION OF THE DISPLAY LINE An example of the four DISPLAYS are shown in . Note that spaces count as one character position. The extension number always occupies the first four digits. The 0114 represents the calling station’s EXTENSION number. The CAR 4 A is the location DESCRIPTION for extension 0114. Each line has a STATUS. Before being handled the status is flashing. An incoming annunciation event can have a status of Alarm, CALL or FAULT.

The user should always note the status of the event signal (ALARM, CALL, FAULT, PARK) before responding since the incoming status of the event will not be apparent when answered. HANDLING AN EVENT - The DISPLAY line ANSWER keys Once the status has been observed, an active display line can be answered by pressing the ANSWER key to the left of the active DISPLAY LINE.

When each call is canceled each DISPLAY LINE will automatically move up, and the top active DISPLAY can be used each time until all lines are handled. SILENCING THE AUDIBLE ANNUNCIATOR TONE When an incoming annunciation is received and cannot be handled immediately, the tone can be temporarily silenced by pressing the CANCEL key.
March 2012 Operations Manual DAD104 INSTALLATION The DAD104 operates on +24 VDC. It can be powered from the central exchange or can be powered locally by a separate 24 VDC regulated power supply. The recommended cord is the BF640A to connect the DAD104 to the RJ45 network jack, KB171. Cords and jacks must be ordered separately. One modular jack is provided at the back of the DAD104.
DAD104 Operations Manual March 2012 SWITCHES SW1 Reset. Creates a local reset for this node only. SW2 Node & Network Address L.E.D.’s RUN - Indicates the local processor in the DAD104 is running. Will illuminate after power up or reset. MAST - Will light steady if this node is the master on the network. There can only be one master on each network. On power up, each device waits for a response from a master. If no response is received, then this device will take over as a master.
