RIGOL Chapter 3 To Use External DMM
3-2 M300 User’s Guide
To Connect Instruments
1 Make sure that the DMM module is not installed in the M300 or or not
enabled
2 To split the mixed interface of M300
Convert the [RS232/Alarm/Ext Trig] interface of M300 into two 9-pin
interfaces (RS232 and Alarm/Ext Trig) using the Mixed Interface Convert Cable
(accessory).
3 To connect the M300 and DM3068
(1) Connect the pin 5 and pin 7 of the Alarm/Ext Trig interface to the external
trigger signal input interface ([Ext Trig IN]) of DM3068.
(2) Connect the pin 6 and pin 7 of the Alarm/Ext Trig interface to the VMC
output interface ([VM Complete OUT]) of DM3068.
Note: this step is a typical connection which uses the VMC signal output
from DM3068 as the advanced source signal. At this point, the trigger mode
of M300 can not be “External” and the advanced source type of M300 shoild
be set to “External” and the edge type must be set to “Falling”.
