Programming Preparations
Before programming, you need to prepare the following tasks:
1. Install Ultra Sigma (PC) software. You can log in to the RIGOL official website (www.rigol.com) to
download the software. Then install the software according to the installation wizard. After Ultra Sigma
is installed successfully, NI-VISA library will be completely installed automatically. In this manual, the
default installation path is C:\Program Files\IVI Foundation\VISA.
2. In this manual, the signal generator communicates with the PC via the USB DEVICE interface. Use the
USB cable to connect the signal generator to the PC via the USB DEVICE interface on the rear panel of
the signal generator. You can also use LAN or GPIB to remotely communicate with the PC.
3. After the signal generator is properly connected to the PC, connect the signal generator to power
source and turn it on.
4. The "Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box will be displayed and please install the "USB Test and
Measurement Device (IVI)" according to the instructions (refer to "To Control via USB" in Chapter 3
"Remote Control" in
DG2000 User Guide ).
5. Acquire the USB VISA descriptor of the signal generator: when the Shift key is illuminated, press
Pulse/Utility  Interface  USB, and the USB ID is displayed at the top of the interface. Here, the
USB ID of the signal generator is USB0::0x1AB1::0x0642::DG20000000001::INSTR.
Then, the preparation work for the programming is completed.
