Prescribed Use
Depending on the model, the arbitrary function generator creates fixed default or free program-
mable signal forms and measurement signals of 1 µHz up to max. 60 MHz. For this, one or two
canals are enacted. Amplitude is adjustable. Functions are displayed in the graphic display. Due
to the digital synthesizer, the output signals are high-precision and frequency-stable. A fre-
quency counter for measuring of external signals is integrated. The measurement connection is
done via BNC bushings.
Depending on the model, various interfaces are enacted for automatic control. A USB-host-con-
nection at the front side, can be used for a USB-flash storage.
The max. measurement voltage (42 V/DC/ACpk) indicated on the device must never be exceed-
ed. Use divider probes if necessary.
The device should only be connected and operated by a grounded shockproof socket of the pub-
lic alternating current network.
Any use, other than that described above, could lead to damage to this product and involves the
risk of short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc.
The product must not be changed or modified in any way. Do not open the housing!
Measurement in damp locations, outdoors or under adverse environmental conditions is not per-
mitted.
Unfavourable ambient conditions are:
- Wet conditions or high air humidity
- Dust and flammable gases, vapours or solvent,
- Thunderstorms or similar conditions such as strong electrostatic fields etc.
Always observe the safety notes included in these operating instructions.
This quick guide explains safety measures to make working with the device as safe as possible.
The individual functions of the device are described in more detail in the enclosed operating

• Measuring devices and devices connected to the power supply should be kept out of reach of
children. Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
• First connect the BNC output of the measurement cable to the generator before you connect
the measurement cable with the measuring circuit that you want to test. After finishing the
measurements, first of all disconnect the measurement contacts from the circuit before you
disconnect the BCN output from the generator.
• Take particular care when dealing with voltages exceeding 25V AC or 35V DC! Even at such
voltages you can receive a life-threatening electric shock if you come into contact with live
electric wires.
• Prior to each measurement, check your instrument and its measuring leads for damage(s).
Never carry out any measurements if the protecting insulation is defect (torn, ripped off, etc.)
• To avoid electric shock, do not to touch the connections/measuring points directly or indirect-
ly during measurements.
