Product specications are subject to change without notice. This material is provided for information purposes only; Riedel assumes no liability
related to its use. September 2004.
In many installations different setups for various types
of regular productions are stored on a PC. These
setups usually only modify parts of the total system
conguration while the rest is to be kept unchanged.
Since the online conguration needs regular adminis-
tration and i.e. is being auto-tracked to an audio/video
routing switcher, it is being modied regularly, from
once a while to several hundred times each day.
If you´d transfer one of your typical setups from PC to
the online system in such a situation, you´d overwrite
all these changes.
Unlike complete conguration les partial les only
contain certain aspects of the conguration which are
to be added to the online conguration when the partial
le is transferred to the system.
Partial les in Artist are supported down to a command
level, i.e. one can add a single command to a specic
key of a panel without changing anything else.
You can build up a control-room/studio assignment tool
using partial les.
Alternatively you can assign certain types of produc-
tion-setups to specic production facilities. It is an
effective and powerful tool.

Loading of partial les for non-technical operators is
very simple.
By selecting and deselecting crosspoints on the partial
le X/Y matrix the operator uploads the appropriate
combination of partial les.
Since the labeling of the X/Y matrix is part of the
conguration it perfectly customizes the user-interface
depending on application.
Alternatively partial les can be red directly from panel
keys, GPIs etc. using the Event Trigger Setup of the
conguration software.
