· To avoid camera shake, use a tripod and a release switch.
· If the battery runs out of power, the shutter may prematurely close.
16. HOLDING THE CAMERA
To prevent camera shake, be sure to hold the camera properly when shooting.
Support the camera on the palm of your left hand so that you can turn the
focusing ring'with your fingers. (Fig. 37)
With your right hand lightly grasp the grip and place your index finger lightly
over the shutter button. When pressing the shutter button, grasp the grip
firmly. Place your elbows against your body.when shooting with the camera
in a horizontal position, or place your left elbow against your body when

Place your forehead against the camera and look through the viewfinder.
17. FOCUSING
Focusing is achieved with the Split-image, Microprism or Matte focusing
screen in the viewfinder. The viewfinder image is crucial for accurate
focusing of the lens, and therefore greatly influences image sharpness.
Different photographic applications often require different focusing screens.
The optimum type of focusing depends on the subject and the lens being
