Selecting the Original Type Setting
Select one of the following 6 types to match your originals:
❖ Text
Select this mode when your originals contain only text (no pictures).
❖ Text/Photo
Select

Text / Photo
]
when your originals contain photographs or pictures with text.
❖ Photo
Delicate tones of photographs and pictures can be reproduced with this mode.
• When copying developed photographs:
• When copying photographs or pictures that are printed on paper (e.g.
magazines):
• When copying copies or originals generated by printers:
❖ Generation Copy
If your originals are copies (generation copies), the copy image can be repro-
duced sharply and clearly.
Select this type from [Others] when Original Type Display (Copier / Docu-
ment Server Features) has been set to Off.
❖ Pale
The machine scans originals with settings suitable for originals that have
lighter lines written in pencil, or for faint copied slips. The faint lines will be
clearly copied.
Select this type from [Others] when Original Type Display (Copier / Docu-
ment Server Features) has been set to Off.
❖ Map
The machine scans originals with settings suitable for map originals.
Select this type from [Others] when Original Type Display (Copier / Docu-
ment Server Features) has been set to Off.
A Select the original type, and then press [OK].
