Mi ssing inf ormation in the p rint ed
label:
Check the label format for character placement outside the dimensions of the label; all
row/column values must allow en ough space for the height/length of th e char acters and
bar codes to be prin ted within th e format size.
The available memory may have been exceeded by the memory requirement of the
label format. Try reducing the memory allocated to either the internal module or
scaleable font caches; non-display printers see Section 4.5.2, display printers see
Sect i on 5. 1. 5
If using serial communications, en sure that the interface cable meets the requirements
found in Section 3. 1. 2.

Information may be formatted outside the label dimensions. Check your software
program label size. For display printers also check the values in the menu for Print
Control / Column Offset and Print Control / Custom Adjustments / Column Offset; see
Sect i on 5. 1. 3.
No p ower ( all indicator lights ar e
‘Off”):
Verify that th e AC power cor d con n ection h as been made at both the outlet and the
printer; also, ensure the power switch is ‘On’.
Verify that the AC outlet is functioning, or try moving the printer to another AC circuit.
The AC cor d m a y be da m aged; replace it.
The line fuse may be blown; call for ser vice.

E xamine the us e d ri bbon for a n image:
If there is an image on the used ribbon:
Veri fy that the ri bbon wa s prop e rly loade d p e r Se c tion 3.4.
If proper ly loaded, th e wrong coating con figuration was used. (To verify the inked side,
pr es s th e a dh esi ve backin g of a la bel aga in st th e r i bbon s ur face. In k will only lift from
the coated side of the ribbon.) Clean the printhead (see Section 6.1); then replace the
ribbon with the correct typ e for the pri nter, Sec tion 3.4.
If there is no image on the used ribbon:
Print an y Internal Test Label; non-display printe rs see Secti on 4. 8, display printers see
Section 5.3. If an image printed, then check the protocol and port settings for both the
printer an d host. These must match.
The heat setting may be too low. Make an adjustment in the software program or
thr ough th e Front Panel.
The me dia/ribbon combinati on m ay be incorrect. Cont act a M e dia Re pres e nt at ive .
The printhead or printhead cable(s) may be loose; power ‘Off’ the printer then
reconnect.
