6.6 Darkness Adjustment (non-display printers only)
The D ar knes s Adjustment allows the op erat or t o ma tc h the print
contra st following a printhead replacement. Turning the D ar knes s
Adjus tment c loc kwis e will da rken the print, while t urning it
cou ntercloc kwis e will light en t he print. Compar e a label print ed
wit h the old p rint head and make t his adjustment so tha t the new
print head ma tc hes the darkest port ion of that label.
 Not e: Large increases in t he ‘Darkness Adj ustment’ can shorten
printhead life. If you need to increase the darkness of the
pri nted labels, t ry i ncr easing t he Heat val ue and/or slow the
Print Speed using your soft ware progr am or vi a DPL
commands.
6.7 Resetting the Printer
Non-Display Printers:
With the p rint er power ‘ Of f ,’ p ress and hold all t hree b uttons while tu rning ‘O n’ the printer. C ontinue t o hold the b uttons
down until the
STOP
light turns of f ( approxima tely 1 7 seconds) . The print er will now be set to the ‘Fa c tory Defaults.’

Display Printers:
Dep ending u pon the met hod used, there are three res et levels possible:
Soft Reset
To reset the p rint er and clear a ny tempora ry host set tings:
With the p rint er ‘ On’ , press and hold t he C AN CEL Key for a pproximately f ou r s econds.
