6.2 M edia Width Adjustment
When print ing on les s than fu ll width media, t he print er has a printhead- leveling cam t o adjust the right si de of the p rinthead
for even press ure dist ribution. To adju st the leveling ca m:
1. With media loaded in the printer, print a label and
ex amin e i t.
Non-display printers:

2. While observing the printed labels, loosen the
Thumbscrew and move it to the left most position. (see
Example 1, below).
3. Next, move the Thumbscrew to the right until the
printed labels contain a complete, even image (see
Example 2). T ighten the Thumbscrew.
Example 1 – Over
adjustment:
Too much adjustment
produces an image that
fades across t he label.
To correct t his, move

right.
Example 2 – Correct
adjustment:
The proper adjust ment
produces a complete
image with even pr int
contrast acr oss t he label
(see not e below).
W hen changing to a diff er ent width of label, r eadjust t he Leveling Cam.
Note: Under-adjustment of the Leveling Cam: Problems can include ribbon wrinkling, label tracking, and platen roller and
printhead wear.
