5.0 Introduction
Controlling Printer Settings with the Internal Printserver
If your print er is equ ipped wit h the op ti onal Int erna l Pr intserver, many of the printer’ s setting and parameters can be
modified and controlled via the b uilt-in H TM L pages resident in the p rint er. T hese pages c an be ac c es sed u sing any web
brows er by simp ly ent ering t he I P addres s in the URL bar .
The front panel is c omprised of three indicator light s, a Liquid Cr ystal Display a nd f ive mode-dependa nt keys . The
s elect able modes (Ready, Menu and Quic k Test) and the related func ti ons of the p rint er keys ar e det ailed below.
Note: To Adjust t he LCD contr ast , pr ess and hold the
MENU
key for 10 t o 20 seconds to modify t he LCD contrast level.
5.0.1 Ready Mode:
Normal Operation (Ready Light ‘On’)
The PAUSE Key temporarily suspends printing. Pressing it again will return the printer to normal
operation.
The FE ED Key ad va nces one l abel, and cl ears a ny corr ected fau lts.
Pressing an d holding causes the printer to perfor m a Quick Media Calibration; see Section 5.4.1.
The CANCEL Key ‘pauses’ the printer and then prompts you for confirmation. If yes, the current
job is cancelled. The printer remains paused.
Pressing and holding four seconds will reset the printer and clear temporary host settings (soft
reset).
MENU
The MENU Key toggles between the Ready and Menu Modes. In the Ready Mode, pressing and
holding four seconds will change the display con tr ast.
The TEST Key enters (or exits) the Quick Test Menu.
