4.7.2 Manual Media Sensor Calibration
The M anual M edia Sens or C alibra tion procedure shou ld be u sed in cases where t he p rint er c ontinues to suf fer f rom media
s ens ing problems after performing or at tempting to perform t he Au to Media Sensor Ca libra ti on ( see S ection 4.7.1) .
 Not e: Before cali br at i ng, be sure the m edia sensor is set for t he appropri at e m edia ty pe, see Section 4. 5. 2; also, ensure that the
Print head Carrier Assembly i s latc hed down and the cover is closed.
To ma nually c alibra te t he media s ens or:
1. Hold the
CANCEL
button a nd power- up the p rint er. C ontinue t o hold the b utton until the
STOP
light turns of f ; then
relea se t he b utton. Nex t, press and hold the
FEED
button, c ontinue t o hold the b utton until the
STOP
light turns on;
then rel ease the b utton.
2. Remove all the ma terial from the media sens or, ( see S ection 3.3 f or the s ensor’s loc ati on) , clos e the P rint head Carrier
Assembly, and then press the
CANCEL
button. The printer will flash the
ERROR
light as it analyzes the no media
condition.
3. Positi on the b acking material or the b lack ( reflect ive) mark in the media sens or, c l ose t he Printhead Ca rr i er Assembly,
an d then press the
FEED
button. The printer will flash the
ERROR
light as it analyzes the top of form mark.
4. Place t he media with the b acking attached (if any) in the media sens or, c lose the P rint head Carrier Assembly, and then
press the
PAU SE
button. The printer will flash the
ERROR
light as it analyzes the material.
5. Simultaneously and br iefly press the
PAU SE
+
CANCEL
buttons to accept the calibr a tion for “t est” and exit the
. One of the following lights will fl ash five t imes to denot e t he res ult of the manual calibra tion
attempt:
STOP
light = Suc c es sf ul c alibra tion. P roceed to Step 6.
ERROR
light = Unsuc c es sf ul c alibra tion. Retry the p rocedure beginning a t Step 1 .
6. Use the
FEED
button ( feeds a label), a nd the
CANCEL
button (prints a test la bel) to test the current calibr a tion.
 Note: If you wish to discard the changes and revert back to the previous calibration simply turn off the printer before Step 7.
7 . N ow save th e changes and res ume
by pressing the
PAU SE
+
CANCEL
buttons si multaneous ly and
briefly. Wait until the
STOP
light goes of f .
