4.7.1 Auto Media Sensor Calibration
Auto Media Sensor Ca libra tion automatic ally est ablishes the op ti mum sens ing values for the media you ar e u sing in the
printer .
 Not e: Before calibr at ing, be sure the m edia sensor is set for t he appropri at e m edia t ype, see Section 4. 5. 2; also, ensure that the
Print head Carrier Assembly i s latc hed down and the cover is closed.
To automatically ca librate the media sensor:
1. Wit h the desired media loaded, hold the
CANCEL
button while p oweri ng up the p rinter. Continue t o hold the b utton
until t he
STOP
light tu rns of f then relea s e it.
2. Next press the
PAU SE
button. The printer will feed approximately ten inches of media to calculate the TOF Delta
and Low values to be used.
3. Upon complet ion, one of the f ollowing light s will f lash five t imes to denot e t he resu lt of the auto calibration attempt:
STOP
light = Suc c es sf ul c alibra tion. P roceed to Step 4.
ERROR
light = Unsu c c ess fu l c alibra tion, try agai n. If the calibra tion c ontinues to f ail proceed to Section 4.7.2.
 Note: If you wish to discard t he changes and revert back t o t he previous cali br at ion si mply tur n of f the printer before Step 4.
