4.6 Label Alignment
The Label Alignment func tion is intended for use when the label length is les s than the dis tance bet ween the print head and
t he media sens or or where label waste at power- up is a concern. Label Alignment (see t able b elow) is not recommended for
la bel lengt hs greater than 6.5 inc hes or for media c ontaining 2 or more form lengt hs.

The L abel Alignment f unc tion is c hosen via the menu s ystem (s ee S ection 4.5) or by host c ommands. T he three p ossible
modes , YES, AUTO , a nd NO , are det ailed in the following sec tions.
4.6.1 Label Alignment = YES
In this mode, the oper a tor must supply an ‘ALIGN LENGT H’ value.
This value must be physic ally mea sured fr om leading edge to leading
edge of two suc c es sive labels , a s shown. The measu rement mu st be as
accurate as possible. For very short labels, errors as small as 0.01” can
result in notic eable p rint var i ations on the la bels bet ween the media
s ens or a nd the printhead.
The measu red v alue must be s en t t o the prin ter v ia the h o st co mput er or
entered u sing the Print er Setup Mode (see S ection 4.5) .
Then, in N ormal Mode, press and hold the
FEED
button (about 4
seconds) . The print er will align the lab el to t he t op of f orm positi on.
Not e: If media wi t h a dif f erent label length i s subsequentl y l oaded, the ‘ALIGN LENGTH’ m ust be recalculat ed and re-entered.
