3. 4 Loadi ng Ribbon
R ibbon is required wit h thermal tra nsf er media . It is recommended that the widt h of the ribbon be s lightly wider than the
media being used. Depending upon the type of Ribbon Supply Hub (see 3.4.1 for examples), the pr inter must use either
ribbons with the ‘ c oat ing side in’ or
ribbons with the ‘c oat ing si de ou t’ . To load:
 Note: Using a ribbon that is slightly wider than your media (and liner, if any) will help protect against pr inthead wear .
1. Op en t he media c over. Press in on the Printhead Latc h
an d raise the pri nthead as sembly.
2. Slide the Ribbon Roll onto the Ribbon Supply Hub until
it rests agains t the hu b’ s flange. Ensu re the ri bb on
unwinds in the correct direct ion ( see 3.4.1 f or

3. Route the rib bon under the Ribbon I dler and t hen ou t the
front of the printer approxima tely 12 inc hes .
