First Run Wizard
The first time that you attempt to log in to Evolution PBX from a Web browser you
will be confronted with a first run wizard. Following are the steps:
1. Open a Web browser on a computer other than the Evolution server but that is
connected to the same network. In the address bar enter http://X.X.X.X/
home/admin.php (where X.X.X.X is the IP address that you wrote down at the
end of the installation process).
2. Enter your license number. Click the
Forward button.
3. On the next screen configure the
network settings for your Evolution
PBX and change the Admin password.
By default when Evolution is first
installed it acquires its network
information from your network via
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol). You should assign your own
password and assign a static IP address
in the IP Address (a static IP address is
one that does not change). Modify the Default Gateway, Subnet Mask, DNS
Servers, and Behind NAT settings as needed for your network.
Note: The IP Address, Default Gateway, Subnet Mask, and DNS Server settings
must be correct for your Local Area Network (LAN). Please contact your network
company or Intuitive Voice Support if you have questions about your LAN. The
Behind NAT setting configures Evolution for a private IP address with access to
the Internet through a NAT (Behind NAT Yes) or for a public IP address with
direct access to the Internet (Behind NAT No).
4. Click the Forward button.
5. Select the extension length and and starting number for your desired extension
range.
6. Choose whether you want to disable or enable the DHCP server built into
Evolution and set the time zone that you want Evolution (and any connected
telephones) to display. If in doubt regarding the DHCP server, leave it disabled.
If you enable the DHCP server configure the following per you network:
a) Domain Name - the domain name that Evolution will hand out for DHCP
service.
b) DHCP Starting IP - the lowest IP address that will be handed out to
clients.
c) DHCP Ending IP - the highest IP address that will be handed out to
clients.
Note: You can have only one DHCP server on your LAN. Full auto discovery and
auto provisioning of some telephones require Evolution to be configured as the
telephones DHCP server.
7. Set the time zone of the server. Individual time zones for each telephone can
be set later.
8. Click the Forward button. Click the Reboot Evolution button and wait for the
server to restart.
9. After Evolution is running again return to your Web browser and click on the
link provided by Evolution after the last step or open a new browser (pointed at
