3. Reboot the computer.
Note: Installing Evolution PBX will erase the entire contents of your hard drive
and create a dedicated PBX appliance.
4. A screen with the Intuitive Voice Technology logo will be displayed asking you
to press ENTER to begin the installation.
5. The installation process will begin copying the Operating System and
Evolution PBX files and programs.
6. The computer will reboot once. Remove the Evolution PBX installation CD
before or shortly after the reboot to prevent the installation process from
starting over.
7. After the first reboot a boot loader screen will appear for several seconds. No
interaction is required.
8. The system will continue compiling and installing
parts of the software. No interaction is required.
Upon completion it will display a screen to indicate
that the installation is complete. Write down the
IP address that is given on this screen. It will be
used later. Press ENTER to reboot the server one
more time.
9. Again the boot loader screen will appear and no
interaction is required.
10. A screen similar to that in step 8 will be displayed but this time it requires no
further interaction. The installation of the software is complete. Next you must
set up your license and then begin configuring your PBX. All management is
performed from the Web Graphical Interface using a Web bowser on another
computer. You should never need to log in to the Evolution PBX machine
directly.
Terminal Screen Commands
Anytime after the installation is complete there are commands that can be typed at
the terminal to configure or solve specific issues. Type these commands with a
keyboard that is directly attached to the Evolution server and has a monitor
displaying the screen that says “You no longer have to do anything here...”
Following are the commands.
•
debug - displays the live PBX activity on the terminal screen (helpful for
diagnostics).
•
g729 - installs the Digium G.729 driver and runs license wizard (must purchase
G.729 license and receive license key first). Log in to the web interface and reboot
the server after you finish the G.729 installation.
•
installfax - installs Evolution Fax packages.
•
installpika - installs the drivers for all Pika PCI cards and then reboots the
server.
•
installrhino - installs the drivers for all Rhino PCI cards and then reboots
the server.
•
installsangoma - installs the drivers for all Sangoma PCI cards and then
reboots the server.
