Evolution PBX Graphical Interface Terminology
The Evolution PBX graphical user interface (GUI) is organized into four general
sections. Across the top are tab-like links with titles like Resources, Call Routing,
Administration, and Reporting. These will be referred to as tabs and named
according to their titles (e.g. the Resources tab). The second section is the menu
located on the left side of the screen. This menu will change color and text
depending on which tab you click on at the top of the screen. Clicking on any one
of these menu items will display a specific PBX resource in the main body of the
web page. This main body composes the last two sections of the Evolution GUI:
the summary section and the detail section. Each of these sections display different
information dependent on the tab and menu item that you have selected and
according to the whether or not you have existing items configured.
The following graphic highlights where each of these sections are found on the
GUI screen.
Installation of Evolution
Evolution PBX is typically shipped pre-installed on servers that are purchased from
Intuitive Voice Technology. A CD-ROM may be downloaded or shipped you for
trial or for purchase. Contact pbxsales@intuitivevoice.com for more information.
If you install Evolution yourself the Evolution PBX installation CD-ROM is used to
boot your server and begin the installation process. The installation process will
completely format the servers hard drives and convert it to a PBX appliance. The
installation process is as follows:
1. Verify that your computer BIOS is
setup to boot first to the CD or
DVD drive that you will be
installing from. Refer to your
computer or motherboard
documentation for information
about setting your computers
boot order. An example of a BIOS
setup screen is to the right.
2. Insert the Evolution PBX
installation CD-ROM into your
CD or DVD drive.
