5. Click the Save button on the middle, right side of the screen.
6. Plug in the Ethernet cable to the Polycom phone (and the power cable too if
you are not using power over Ethernet).
7. Before the phone begins to boot it will give you the option to press a key under
the word Setup on the LCD screen. Press Setup now. If the phone has already
finished booting up press the Menu button located on the phone. Then select
Settings... Select Advanced. Enter the password: 456.
8. Once in the Advanced settings select Admin Settings and then Network
Configuration.
9. Scroll to and select Server Menu.
10. Set Server Type to Trival FTP and set Server Address to the IP address of your
Evolution server (press Ok to accept).
11. Press Exit twice or until you are asked if you want to Exit w/o Save or Save
Config.
12. Select Save Config.
13. Press Exit and then Restart Phone... When asked “Are you sure?” press Yes.
The phone will reboot, automatically update its firmware (if necessary), and
download its configuration from Evolution. Once complete it will be ready to use.
The following table describes each of the Evolution settings for the extension.

Record Calls
Yes will record calls made directly to this extension, No will not record calls for

MAC Address
12 character MAC address of the telephone configured with this extension.
Mailbox
Personal creates a voicemail account with the same number as this extension.
Selecting a number will assign that voicemail account to be this extension’s
voicemail account.
Time Zone
The time zone of the telephone (Hawaii, Alaska, Pacific, Arizona, Mountain,
Indiana, Central, Eastern, Atlantic). Auto configured telephones will use this
setting to automatically calculate the correct time and date.
Paging
Enabled will include this extension in the permission to be paged. Disabled will
prevent this extension from being paged.
Remote Phone
Yes configures Evolution and telephone auto configurations for remote use (a
telephone at a different location). No configures Evolution and telephone auto
configuration files for local use (default).
IP Address
For Future Use
Heartbeat
Advanced. The duration for keep-alive messages between Evolution and the
telephone (options = No, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000).
Outbound
Internal Only permits this extension to only make internal calls (extension to
extension), Internal-Local permits this extension to make internal and local calls
(per the Outbound Dial Map route Local), Internal-Local-Toll permits this
extension to make any type of call that Evolution is configured to allow (default).
Codec
Set the CODEC to use for this extension (G711 (USA), G729 (Licensed**)). **
