3.4.5 Alternate PC connection
FOCUS chassis with maintenance module version
4 & 5 provide an alternate PC connection using a
special cable (see figure 3-5). Using a cable wired
exactly as shown you can connect your PC to the
female DB-9 connector on the rear of the mother-
board. The connector, labeled “P4” is located just
above and to the left of the terminal block. If you
use any other cable your PC will be damaged
severely. This alternate interface provides a
“permanent” connection to the FOCUS chassis
but you may not connect to the front and rear at
the same time.
