Attaching M163 and M163-i Wristband Tags
To attach an M163 or M163-i wristband tag, perform the following steps:
1. Slide a standard single-use ¾” wristband through the slots at the base of the tag.
2. Ensure that the wristband is on the backside of the tag (opposite side of the tag label) and slide the end of the
wristband through the slot at the top of the tag.
3. Wrap the wristband around the wrist of the person who will be wearing it and then close the clasp to secure the
tag.
NOTE: Please take care when attaching the wristband; ensure that it is comfortable to wear and still securely
attached so that it will not slip-off.
4. If necessary, trim the wristband.
M163 and M163-i Wristband Tag Construction and Cleaning Information
M163/i Wristband Tags can be regularly and repeatedly exposed to warm soapy solutions. Tags will withstand normal
bath and shower regimens, wipe-down and cleaning procedures. The wristband is disposable, but the tags are designed
to be cleaned periodically or when necessary. When unused, tags should be stored in dry conditions.
The enclosures for the M163 family of active RFID wristband tags are injection-molded from polyvinyl chloride
(PVC) Novablend 2677 (manufactured for RF Code by PolyOne Corporation). CLINI-TECH® disinfectant (by Medtrol) is a
recommended cleaning agent (containing n-Alkyl dimethylbenzyl ammonium chloride and n-Alkyl dimethylethylbenzyl
ammonium chloride both at a concentration of 0.105% per volume as the active ingredients).
To clean M163/i Wristband Tags, follow the instructions in the next section.
