Mailboxes

Use the arrow buttons (up/down) to

select the desired setting parameters.

The display shows all programmable menu

items.

Press the select button next to the

menu item to be changed until the

desired setting is shown in the dis-

play.

The display shows the current setting.

When entering numbers, press the

select button next to the correspond-

ing line.

The cursor blinks.

Change the setting parameter by

pressing the arrow buttons

(up/down).

The display counts up or down.

As for parameters with more than

one digit, you can move the cursor by

pressing the arrow buttons (right/left).

The current cursor position blinks.

To complete the entry of numbers or

characters, press the select button

next to the corresponding line again.

The cursor position stops blinking.

To complete the entry, press the stop

button several times.

The display resumes the initial state.



If you use mailboxes, the VIP, message and remote control codes should not begin with the numbers 1 to 4. This is to pre-

vent that your Retell 340 will switch to the corresponding mailbox when the code number entered first is identified to be 1 – 4.

Should you use the numbers 1 – 4 as the first figures of the code, you have to press the * button before entering the code.

This serves to differentiate between code and mailbox entries.

Mailbox handling

When you have implemented mailboxes, the corresponding symbols are shown in the display. During the answering mode, the

number of recorded incoming mailbox messages is displayed at the right side of the symbol. For new and not yet played back
