VIP function
If you do not wish to be disturbed and have your Retell 340 answering incoming calls, you can remain addressable by important
callers using the VIP code.
You can set your personal VIP code as described under “Settings”.

Call the Retell 340. You hear the outgoing message.
Enter the VIP code via the telephone keypad. If you en-
tered a wrong number accidentally, you can erase your
entry by pressing the * button and start again.
After each number, a voice acknowledgement is given.
After having entered the complete code, press the rhom-
bus button.
A special information signal is heard for about 50 seconds
through the loudspeaker of the Retell 340. During this time, you
can pick-up the handset and answer the call personally. If a
wrong code is entered, your Retell 340 will disconnect the line
immediately.
Hold the conversation and replace the handset after-
wards.
If the call had not been answered personally, the caller will have
the option to leave a message even after the 50 seconds where
the special information signal is emitted.

The telephone to be used for the execution of the VIP function must be set to the tone dialling method.
