• Make sure the casing fits snugly against the jamb, with the angled portion covering the
top edge of the jamb.
STEP 4 HORIZONTAL ALIGNMENT
• Use horizontal marks on top of the jambs as a guide for placing the casing. This ensures
that the casing is level and correctly aligned with the top of the door jamb
• With the casing in the correct position, use a nail gun or appropriate fasteners to secure
it in place.
STEP 5 VERTICAL POSITIONING
• The vertical part of the casing (leg) (the side with the 45-degree cut) should be precisely
on the mark you made earlier on the vertical position of the jamb.
• With the casing in the correct position, use a nail gun or appropriate fasteners to secure
it in place.
STEP 6 REPEAT FOR THE OTHER SIDE
• Repeat the same process for the casing on the other side of the door. Ensure equal
spacing and alignment for a balanced look.
STEP 7 FINISHING TOUCHES
• Once both casings are installed, check for any gaps or unevenness
• If necessary, use wood putty to fill any gaps and sand the casing for a smooth finish
STEP 8 PAINT OR STAIN (OPTIONAL)
If desired, you can paint or stain the casing to match your interior decor and preferences.
Ensure the paint or stain is applied evenly for a professional look
STEP 9 ENJOY YOUR UPGRADED DOORWAY
• Stand back and admire the beautiful, finished look of the door casing with its clean lines
and polished appearance
• Enjoy the enhanced aesthetics and the touch of elegance it brings to your space
