Solar door and window alarm

Intended use
The product is designed for use as a monitoring device for doors and windows. When
the door or window is opened, a magnetic contact sets o the alarm and the device
emits a loud alarm signal. The alarm is also sensitive to vibrations.
The product is powered during the day via the built-in solar module and at night via
batteries.
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in
bathrooms, must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product.
If you use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may
be damaged. In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting,
re, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this
product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on
proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting
personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the
warranty/guarantee.
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may
become dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, ammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of
operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no
longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a
low height can damage the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices
which are connected to the product.
• The product emits a loud alarm signal when set o. Depending on your
country of residence, restrictions on the volume and duration of the alarm
may apply. Please comply with local regulations.
• Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the batteries.
• Batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long
period of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged
batteries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore use
suitable protective gloves to handle corrupted batteries.
• Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave batteries
lying around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow them.
• All batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and new
batteries in the device can lead to battery leakage and device damage.
• Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into re.
Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of
the device.
• Maintenance, modications and repairs are to be performed exclusively
by an expert or at a qualied shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating
instructions, contact our technical support service or other technical
personnel.
Operation
a) Inserting/replacing batteries
• Make sure that the on/o switch is in position OFF.
• Slide the battery compartment lid down as indicated by the arrow.
• Insert 3 LR44 button cells, observing correct polarity. The positive terminal (+) must
face outward.
• Close the battery compartment.
Replace the batteries when the LED ashes in an interval of 3 seconds.
b) Installation
The product is suitable for installation on an even, smooth surface only.
• Make sure that the installation surface is dry and completely clean (i.e. free from
grease and dust).
• Remove the protective lm from the back of the alarm unit and the magnet to expose
the adhesive pads.
• The magnet may be mounted to the left or the right side of the alarm unit. The
arrow on the magnet must point directly to one of the two arrows on the alarm unit.
The distance between the magnet and alarm unit may not exceed 6 mm to ensure
correct operation.
• Fasten the alarm unit and the magnet at the desired position by pressing both
components rmly onto the installation surface.
