Solar hanging light

Intended use
The product is intended as a decorative garden light source.
The NiMH rechargeable batteries inserted into the solar hanging light are charged via
the built-in solar cells when there is sucient natural light. An LED turns on automa-
tically at dark.
Choose a site for set-up with as little shade as possible so the rechargeable batteries
can charge suciently to guarantee a lengthy light ON time in the dark.
The solar hanging light is intended for set-up and use in outdoor spaces.
It is imperative that you follow the safety instructions and all other information contai-
ned in this user manual.

Notes on rechargeable batteries
• Keeprechargeablebatteriesoutofthereachofchildren.Donotleaverechargeable
batterieslyingabout.Childrenorpetsmayswallowbatteriesleftlyingabout,posing
ariskoffatalinjury!Ifabatteryhasbeenswallowed,seekmedicaladviceimmedi-
ately.
• Neverdisassemble,short-circuitorthrowrechargeablebatteriesintore,thispo-
sesariskofexplosion.
• Heedcorrectpolarity(plus/+andminus/-)wheninserting/replacingrechargeable
batteries.
• Expiredorusedrechargeablebatteriescanleakchemicalliquidsthatcausedama-
ge to the device. Leaking or damaged rechargeable batteries may cause chemical
burnsiftheycomeintocontactwithyourskin,wearsuitableprotectivehandwear
in such a case.
• Useonlyrechargeablebatteriesoftherightsizeandrecommendedtype
• Onlyeverinsertrechargeablebatteriesintothesolarhanginglight.Neverusenon-
rechargeablebatteries.Otherwisethereisariskofreandexplosion!
 OnlyuseNiMHrechargeablebatteries,typeAA/Mignon.
Assembling the set-up pole
 Notoolsarenecessaryforinstallation.Donotexertanyforce.Exertingforce
cancausedamagetotheproductandresultsinlossofwarranty!
The set-up pole‘s four parts can be screwed together easily.
Firsthand-tightenthetwoextensionpoles.
Then screw the ground spike to the bottom end and the hook holder to the top.
Set-up and use
Choose a sport for set-up with as much sunlight as possible. The more sun-
lightthatshinesonthesolarcells,thequickerandfullertherechargeable
battery will charge and the longer the light ON time in the dark will be.
If you set up the product beneath trees or bushes where only a small amount
ofsunlightcanreachthesolarcell,therechargeablebatterieswillnotchar-
ge suciently and the solar hanging light LED will light up at night only very
briefly if at all.
 Duringthewintermonthsorduringextendedperiodsofadverseweather,
the rechargeable batteries will also not charge suciently and light ON time
in the dark will decrease accordingly.
 Donotplacethesolarhanginglightdirectlynexttoothersourcesoflight
suchascourtyardlights,streetlights,etc.Otherwisetheunderwaterspot-
lightswillnotturnon/ocorrectly(theLEDisactivatedautomaticallywhen
thechargingcurrentfromthesolarcelldropsbelowacertainvalue).
Setupthesolarhanginglighte.g.attheedgeofyourpatio,agardenpathoraower
bed.
Stick the metal set-up pole using the ground spike into the ground vertically.
 Donotuseanytoolstoinsertthegroundspike(e.g.ahammer).Exerting
forcecancausedamagetotheproductandresultsinlossofwarranty!
Turnonthesolarhanginglight(on/oswitchto„ON“).
 Whentheproductiso(on/oswitchto„OFF“)therechargeablebatteries
in the product do not charge.
Usingtheeyelet,hangthesolarhanginglightonthetopofthemetalset-uppole.
The solar hanging light can also be fastened using e.g. a rope or the like.
Make sure that the solar cells are not in the shade.
ThesolarhanginglightLEDactivatesautomaticallyatdark.Pleasenotethat,when
comparedtothesummer,theilluminationperiodcouldbeshorterduringlong-lasting
bad weather conditions or during wintertime.
 IftheLEDdoesnotturnontherstevening,waitforthenextsunnyday.
You could also remove the rechargeable batteries from the solar hanging
light to charge them using a commercially available battery charger for
NiMH round cell rechargeable batteries.
Make sure you observe correct polarity when inserting the rechargeable
batteriesintothesolarhanginglight(positive/+andnegative/-terminals),
see„Replacingtherechargeablebattery“.
 Turnotheproduct(on/oswitchto„OFF“)forextendedperiodsofdisuse.
Pleasenotethattherechargeablebatteriesdonotchargewhentheswitch
is in this position.
