8.2.4 Using the Internal RAM Area as External Addresses
When the RAME bit in SYSCR is 0, the internal RAM area can be used external addresses. Note that, however,
the only memory that can be accessed is User (external), not Emulator (emulation memory). In this case, the On-
Chip Read-write (Internal RAM) setting is applied for memory mapping.
8.2.5 Support of Flash Memory
This emulator does not emulate the flash memory in the MCU.
8.2.6 Hardware Standby
This emulator does not support the hardware standby function. Therefore, checking [User Standby enable] in the
[Configuration Properties] dialog box is invalid.
8.2.7 Notes on Use of the H8S/2218 Group and the H8S/2212 Group
(1) Mode 7 (Single-Chip Mode) of the H8S/2218 Group
This emulator does not support mode 7 (single-chip mode) of the H8S/2218 group.
(2) Notes on Accessing USB and RTC Registers
The on-chip USB control registers and RTC control registers in the H8S/2218 group and the H8S/2212 group are
allocated to area 6 (H’C00000 to H’DFFFFF) and area 7 (H’E00000 to H’FFFFFF) in the external bus area,
respectively. To access these registers, the bus controller must be set. For details, refer to section 3, MCU
Operating Modes, section 6, Bus Controller, and section 14, Universal Serial Bus Interface (USB) in the
H8S/2218 Group, H8S/2212 Group Hardware Manual.
To use the emulator, the following register settings must be added:
a) Modes 6 and 7 (on-chip ROM enabled mode) of the H8S/2218 group and the H8S/2212 group
Pin function control register (PFCR: H’FDEB): H’02
Bit 2 of the port 7 data direction register (P7DDR: H’FE36): 1
Port C data direction register (PCDDR: H’FE3B): H’FF
b) Modes 4 and 5 (on-chip ROM disabled mode) of the H8S/2218 group
Pin function control register (PFCR: H’FDEB): H’02
Bit 2 of the port 7 data direction register (P7DDR: H’FE36): 1
