front and engine compartment 3 1 2 4 Screen washer fluid level Coolant level Engine oil level Add some fluid in the reservoir 1 if necessary. The level indicated on the reservoir 2 should be between MIN and MAX. You can check the oil level on the instrument panel. When the engine is started and for approximately 30 seconds, press either button 3 or 4. The oil level is displayed on the instrument panel. If it is necessary to top up this level, it is essential to do so when the engine is cold.
passenger side 1 ON OFF Deactivating the front passenger air bag If you wish to fit a child seat in the front passenger seat, it is essential to deactivate the airbag: – with the vehicle stopped, rotate switch 1 to OFF. Reposition the switch immediately to ON as soon as you are no longer using the child seat.

rear A Parking distance control For equipped vehicles, the parking distance control measures the distance between the rear of the vehicle and any obstacles nearby. When approaching an obstacle during manoeuvres, the beeps become faster and then sound continuously when 25 cm from the obstacle. The system may be temporarily or permanently deactivated using the switch located on the dashboard (refer to your Driver’s Handbook).

S tarting / stopping the engine Stopping the engine With the vehicle stopped, turn the key towards you. 1 Accessing functions Turn the key through two positions in order to access certain functions (radio, navigation, wipers etc.). Starting the engine With the key in the ignition switch 1, turn it fully on. Once the engine has started, release it. Note: in diesel versions, there may be a delay of several seconds between turning the key and engine start to allow for engine preheating.

Note: you may always interrupt the operation of the cruise control by depressing either the brake or clutch pedal.
F uel 18 A Fuel tank Pull in recess A of the cover to open it. When driving, when the low fuel level warning light comes on, fill up with fuel as soon as possible: when the warning light comes on, you have approximately 30 miles (50 km) left, driving at moderate speed. The fuel tank capacity is approximately 49 litres.
