- The QuizManager control bar shows a yellow indicator.
- The QuizManager control bar shows a black indicator, but a NEO is connected to that location on the Cart or to the USB port on the computer.
- I have a quiz installed on some NEOs, and I have student responses that I have not yet retrieved, but I’ve accidentally erased the quiz document from my computer. Now I can’t retrieve, or even remove, the responses.
- I have a quiz installed on some NEOs, but I have accidentally erased the quiz document from my computer and I don’t remember the Admin Password. Now I am unable to remove the quiz from the NEOs.

Starting QuizManager

Starting QuizManager
QuizManager is the program you use to send quizzes to student NEOs,
retrieve their responses, assign points to questions, grade quizzes, generate
and print reports, compile statistics, and export scores.
To start QuizManager, follow the instructions for your type of computer.
On Windows Computers:
Click Start or Programs (or All Programs) AlphaSmart
QuizManager Launch QuizManager.
On Macintosh Computers:
Open the Applications folder, then the QuizManager folder. Double-click
QuizManager.
About the QuizManager Control Bar
When you have started QuizManager, a status message across the top of the
control bar lets you know how many NEOs are connected to your NEO (if
any), either through a SmartOption cart or by a direct USB cable connection.
The numbered circles show you NEOs connected through a SmartOption
Cart. The Direct USB circle shows you NEOs connected directly to the
computer with a USB cable. The color of each circle shows you the status of
each NEO:
•Green means a NEO is connected at this location, and the NEO has
AlphaQuiz installed.
• Black means no NEO is connected in this location (or it is an older device
with older software). If you have a NEO connected at this location and the
circle is still black, disconnect the NEO and turn it on; then, reconnect it.
If you’ve closed the
Control Bar on a
Windows computer
and you want to open it
again, you can click the
Window menu and choose
View Control Bar. You
cannot close the Control Bar
separately on Macintosh
computers.
