- The QuizManager control bar shows a yellow indicator.
- The QuizManager control bar shows a black indicator, but a NEO is connected to that location on the Cart or to the USB port on the computer.
- I have a quiz installed on some NEOs, and I have student responses that I have not yet retrieved, but I’ve accidentally erased the quiz document from my computer. Now I can’t retrieve, or even remove, the responses.
- I have a quiz installed on some NEOs, but I have accidentally erased the quiz document from my computer and I don’t remember the Admin Password. Now I am unable to remove the quiz from the NEOs.

Programs You’ll Use with AlphaQuiz
When you use AlphaQuiz, you actually use three programs:
Downloading and Installing QuizDesigner and
QuizManager
The AlphaQuiz SmartApplet comes installed on your NEO, but to create and
send quizzes and retrieve answers, you must download and install the
QuizDesigner and QuizManager on your computer. Follow the steps for your
operating system.
System Requirements for QuizManager and QuizDesigner
Before you download and install these programs, make sure your computer
meets these system requirements:
• Windows computers: Windows 98 (Second Edition) or higher with a
web browser for viewing help.
• Macintosh computers: OS 9.0 or higher with a web browser for viewing
help.
Program Purpose
AlphaQuiz SmartApplet Students use this SmartApplet on the NEO to take the
quizzes that you have created and sent to NEOs.
QuizDesigner Teachers use this program on a computer to create
quizzes that their students can take in AlphaQuiz. You
must download and install this program; see the next
section.
QuizManager Teachers use this program on a computer to send
quizzes to NEOs and to receive student responses for
grading. You must download and install this program;
see the next section.
If AlphaQuiz is not
installed on your
NEO, it may have
been removed by another
user. To install it again, see
page 1-2.
