Printhead cradle:
The printhead is attached to a movable cradle.
Printhead mount:
The cartridge is fixed to the printhead mount.
Printhead spacing:
This spacing determines the print intensity. If
the spacing is too large, the print will be too
faint. If it is too small, the ink can smudge.
Resolution:
A measure of the image definition. It is
measured in dots per inch (dpi).
Sans serif font:
A font that has no horizontally running lines
(“feet") at the head or foot of a letter. This text
is printed in a sans serif font, for instance.
Serial interface:
In a serial interface, the data is transferred
sequentially (bit by bit) from the computer to
the printer. The connection takes place via an
RS-232-C socket.
Serif font:
Serifs are the “feet" on Antiqua fonts. The font
type Cour is a "Serif" font, for instance.
Setting:
The selection of new configurations.
Soft fonts:
Soft fonts are stored on floppy disk. They can
be downloaded to the printer memory.
Software:
Software refers to all operating and graphics
programs, as well as the programming or
special application packages installed in your
computer system.
Stripping blades:
The stripping blades allow a single sheet to be
fed from a stack of papers. The sheets lying
above the bottom sheet are held down.
