6. Disposal
The electric die stocks, batteries and rapid chargers may not be thrown ion the
household waste when they are fi nished with. They must be disposed of prop-
erly by law. Lithium batteries and battery packs of all battery systems may only
be disposed of in the discharged state, all contacts of incompletely discharged
lithium batteries and battery packs must be covered with insulating tape.
7. Manufacturer’s Warranty
The warranty period shall be 12 months from delivery of the new product to the
fi rst user. The date of delivery shall be documented by the submission of the
original purchase documents, which must include the date of purchase and the
designation of the product. All functional defects occurring within the warranty
period, which are clearly the consequence of defects in production or materials,
will be remedied free of charge. The remedy of defects shall not extend or
renew the warranty period for the product. Damage attributable to natural wear
and tear, incorrect treatment or misuse, failure to observe the operational
instructions, unsuitable operating materials, excessive demand, use for unau-
thorized purposes, interventions by the customer or a third party or other
reasons, for which REMS is not responsible, shall be excluded from the warranty
Services under the warranty may only be provided by customer service stations
authorized for this purpose by REMS. Complaints will only be accepted if the
product is returned to a customer service station authorized by REMS without
prior interference and in a fully assembled condition. Replaced products and
parts shall become the property of REMS.
The user shall be responsible for the cost of shipping and returning the product.
A list of the REMS-authorized customer service stations is available on the
Internet under www.rems.de. For countries which are not listed, the product
must be sent to the SERVICE-CENTER, Neue Rommelshauser Strasse 4,
71332 Waiblingen, Deutschland. The legal rights of the user, in particular the
right to make claims against the seller in case of defects as well as claims due
to wilful violation of obligations and claims under the product liability law are
not restricted by this warranty.
This warranty is subject to German law with the exclusion of the confl ict of laws
rules of German International Private Law as well as with the exclusion of the
United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sales of Goods
(CISG). Warrantor of this world-wide valid manufacturer’s warranty is REMS
GmbH & Co KG, Stuttgarter Str. 83, 71332 Waiblingen, Deutschland.

5. Faults
5.1.
Fault:
Electric die stock does not pull through, overload protection (10) triggers off.
Cause:
Remedy:
●
Not original REMS quick-change die heads.
●
Only use REMS quick-change die heads.
●
REMS dies are blunt.
●
Change REMS dies, see 2.3.
●
Unsuitable thread-cutting material.
●
Use REMS Spezial or REMS Sanitol thread-cutting oils.
●
Worn carbon brushes.
●
Have the carbon brushes or DC motor changed by qualifi ed personnel or an
authorised REMS customer service workshop.
●
Mains lead defective.
●
Have the mains lead replaced by qualifi ed personnel or an authorised REMS
customer service workshop.
●
Electric die stock defective.
●
Have the electric die stock checked/repaired by an authorised REMS customer
service workshop.
●
Battery depleted or defective (REMS Amigo 22 V).
●
Charge the battery with the rapid charger or change the battery.
5.2.
Fault:
No workable thread, threads are ripping off.
Cause:
Remedy:
●
REMS dies are blunt.
●
Change REMS dies, see 2.3.
●
REMS dies inserted incorrectly.
●
Observe numbering of the REMS dies to the slot number of the die head body
(18), see 2.3, change die heads if necessary.
●
Unsuitable or insuffi cient thread-cutting material.
●
Use suffi cient, undiluted quantity of REMS Spezial or REMS Sanitol thread-
cutting oil, see 3.1.
●
Pipe material is unsuitable for thread cutting.
●
Only use approved pipes.
5.3.
Fault:
Thread is cut skew to the pipe axis.
Cause:
Remedy:
●
Pipe not cut at a right angle.
●
Cut pipe at right angle, e.g. with dual purpose holder (accessory art. no. 543100,
Fig. 8) and REMS Tiger ANC, REMS Tiger ANC VE, REMS Tiger ANC SR or
with REMS RAS St, REMS Turbo K, REMS Cento.
5.4.
Fault:
Pipe slips in support bracket (2).
Cause:
Remedy:
●
Pipe not clamped tightly enough in support bracket.
●
Make the clamping spindle (4) tighter.
●
Prismatic clamping jaw (3) heavily soiled.
●
Clean the prismatic clamping jaw with a wire brush for example.
●
Teeth of the prismatic clamping jaw (3) worn.
●
Change the support bracket (2).
5.5.
Fault:
Die stock hits the support bracket (2).
Cause:
Remedy:
●
Support bracket fi xed too close to the end of the pipe or rod.
●
Fix the support bracket about 10 cm from the end of the pipe or rod, see 3.1.
●
Long thread cut without re-tightening.
●
Switch the electric die stock off when it approaches the support bracket.
5.6.
Fault:
Electric die stock does not start.
Cause:
Remedy:
●
Rotation ring/slide (7) not snapped into position.
●
Snap in rotation ring/slide.
●
Overload protection (10) has triggered (REMS Amigo, REMS Amigo 2 Compact).
●
Wait a few seconds then press the button of the overload protection.
●
Worn carbon brushes.
●
Have the carbon brushes or DC motor changed by qualifi ed personnel or an
authorised REMS customer service workshop.
●
Mains lead defective.
●
Have the mains lead replaced by qualifi ed personnel or an authorised REMS
customer service workshop.
●
Electric die stock defective.
●
Have the electric die stock checked/repaired by an authorised REMS customer
service workshop.
●
Battery (Fig. 7 (23)) depleted or defective (REMS Amigo 22 V).
●
Charge the battery with the Li-Ion rapid charger or change the battery.
●
LED of the machine status check (Fig. 7 (22)) lights red
(REMS Amigo 22 V).
●
Unsuitable battery inserted. Usable batteries, see 1.5.
●
LED of the machine status check (Fig. 7 (22)) lights red due to overload
(REMS Amigo 22 V).
●
Wait a few seconds until the LED lights green.
●
LED of the machine status check (Fig. 7 (22)) fl ashes red due to
exceeded motor temperature (REMS Amigo 22 V).
●
Wait until the LED lights green. Switch on REMS Amigo 22 V and let it run
without load to shorten the cooling time.
