Multi-zone audio challenges the custom installer with a new
set of system design issues that need to be transparent to the
end-user. Cabling extends to all parts of the home or office, the
control system interface must be simple to use and it has to
blend into the environment.
With a full line of in-wall products, RTI control systems give you
the flexibility to meet rigorous control requirements throughout
the home or business, while handheld remote controls and the
RTiPanel App can be used in locations that simply cannot be
cabled, such as a pool or spa area.
Equipment Considerations
RTI control systems give you nearly unlimited flexibility when deciding which
controller and processor will be used. This allows you to match the controller to
the installation needs, budget and the personal preference of the end-user.
In the case of multi-zone audio control, which controllers are used around
the home/office focuses on functionality at the points of control. It becomes
important to know if the end-user only needs audio control, or may enjoy the
benefits of a unified control method for lighting and HVAC as well. Handheld
remotes may also be used for zones that may have other equipment being
controlled and weather resistant remote controls help in special circumstances
such as a pool area. A more powerful control processor is going to be required
in most cases.
