XP-8
The XP-8 is a high-end remote control processor for
automating the operation of electronic systems in homes
and office buildings. The combination of a blazing fast
MPU, real-time/multi-tasking operating system, and
tremendous expansion possibilities make the XP-8 the
perfect solution for large-scale and complex projects.
The XP-8 has been designed to interface seamlessly
with all RTI remote controls and touchpanels, providing
an abundance of basic control ports such as infrared,
contact closures, and power sensors. Offering the next
generation of control, the XP-8 opens up advanced
interface options, utilizing bi-directional RS-232
communication and Ethernet. RTI in-wall controllers and
ZigBee
®
enabled remote controls (when separate RTI
2.4GHz RF transceivers are used) can now display meta-
data and status feedback from compatible entertainment
and environmental electronics such as music servers and
lighting. An internet connection to the XP-8 allows web-
based services such as weather forecasts to be displayed
on the controller as well.
